We all go through periods of ‘stuckness’. Like, you feel like you’re stuck in a creative rut, and you have no idea where to go from there.
What’s cool though — is that if you can master the feelings of being STUCK and move your way through it quicker, you’ll be able to exponentially increase your results. I’ve found that this is a big difference between successful entrepreneurs and those that stay in feelings of stuck (forever).
But before we dive into the Four Hacks to Getting Unstuck, I want to make sure you’ve got the right mindset. What’s coming up for you in this feeling of being “stuck? What types of things are you telling yourself about this “rut”?
It’s likely that there’s head drama going on during this time of being stuck, and you’ve attached it to a belief about yourself…
Like, “I’m not good enough,” or “I’m not cut out to do this.”
So I want to encourage you to detach from the thoughts and beliefs that are coming up for you during this season of “stuck”.
Don’t make this more than what it is — or you’ll never get out of it.
You can also think about whether or not you really are in a rut. Maybe you’re experiencing clarity or growth and it’s causing you to think at a higher level and pushing yourself further than you’ve gone before. Maybe you’re about to experience an awakening or growth, but your subconscious is trying to protect you by making you feel like you’re in a rut.
Changing your mindset first is the only true way to get out of a rut. But there are some things you can do RIGHT NOW that will help get yourself out of those feelings of stuck.
Change your scenery. Try working from the park across the street from your house, or a coffee shop down the street. You’ll experience new sights, smells and noises. This can help break you out of the cycle you’re experiencing.
Feed your mind. Find new books, podcasts, blogs etc. to read/listen to. Push your brain to experience new things and think of new ideas.
Move your body. Exercise is a great way to take your mind off your current situation and help break out of that cycle.
Go outside. This is the quickest way I’m able to shift my body and my mind. Take in some fresh air and sunshine, and just be with nature for a bit.
Lastly, you should remember that you DO need downtime in your business. Your feelings of “stuckness” and lack of clarity could simply come from needing to rest and recharge. Take some time away from your business and work, try those four hacks, and then come back to it once you’ve given your mind a break.
